We spoke to Kiran R Achari, who recently joined our Business Development team and asked him about his experience with ODeX and the Shipping Industry. I’ve studied engineering and have also done an MBA in Marketing & Operation from ICFAI Business School. I was recruited by ODeX India Solutions Pvt Ltd during my final semester in MBA. Before coming to ODEX, frankly speaking, I didn’t have any clue regarding the industry and the company. But the training sessions I got from my trainers and my seniors started giving me insight and an overview of the things which I need to know about the company and the industry. In this process I got the opportunity to be with various departments, learning what our support team does, to how our accounts team handles various processes. People at ODeX were very friendly, informative and optimistic in nature. They always motivated me and helped to build my confidence. They never treated me as a stranger instead helped and guided me whenever needed. They soon made me feel that even I am a part of ODeX family. The training helped me to know about the company’s vision, mission, product and the values which they follow, but the real game started when I was put to the field for the first time. I still remember my first client meeting where I was very afraid, too much nervous, puzzled and a lot of mixed feelings. As soon as I came outside after the first client meeting I told myself “Welcome To Sales”. Soon after this I tried to motivate myself and recalled all the good things that I did in my internship and backed myself saying that I can do it. Winding up… I just want to give a gentle message that always believes in the process and back yourself, irrespective how far is your goal. If your process is truthful, dedicated and sincere one day you will definitely achieve success. We welcome those who want to enter the Shipping Industry.
