Mitsui OSK Lines Is Ready To Introduce Hydrogen-Fueled Cargo Handling Machineries Across Ports
Mitsui OSK lines have collaborated with Mitsui E&S Machinery and have planned to launch advanced hydrogen-powered machinery that is adept in handling machinery across ports. Shosen Koun, a subsidiary under MOL, has recently confirmed its order at Mitsui A&S Machinery for acquiring a brand-new low-emission, rubber-tyred gantry crane, which is all set to be introduced at a major port operated by Mitsui OSK Lines of Kobe container terminal. MOL has announced that the low-emission, diesel-fueled gantry crane is efficient at reducing the harmful carbon dioxide emissions and boosting the fuel consumption by 20-30 percent. The new-age, hi-tech gantry crane will be deemed hydrogen-ready by May 2022 and will set a new milestone in the maritime industry. The Carbon Neutral Port venture as funded by Japan plays an integral role in decarbonizing the ports and harbors for a better, pollution-free future.

As you are already aware of, the life-threatening Coronavirus pandemic has gripped the whole world in a state of fear, chaos, and uncertainty as mankind struggles to survive this deadly virus. Recently, India has succumbed to the malignant second wave and is in dire need of oxygen supply to meet the ever-growing demand. Echoing this thought, the Mundra port in Gujarat has received the delivery of not one but 7 oxygen tankers loaded with 20 metric tons of medical oxygen all the way from the United Arab Emirates, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs. The above-mentioned ISO tankers have been constructed according to rules and regulations put forward by the International Organization for Standardization and are built using top-notch quality stainless steel and designed to transfer liquids in bulk.
Andhra Pradesh Government Is Likely To Divest Its Ten Percent Equity In Gangavaram Port
The Andhra Pradesh Government has shared its future plans of offloading its 10 percent stake in the Gangavaram Port while the Adani Group has been successful in acquiring around a 90 percent stake in the Gangavaram Port. However, there is a possibility that the proposal to blend the operations of the Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) with the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) as has been put forward by the infra major might not get the green signal from the Andhra Pradesh Government. The AP Government has already assigned a high-level official committee that consists of three members to analyze the offer by Adani Group and to examine the pros and cons of the matter. The AP Government will then move forward to weigh the possibilities of obtaining the maximum revenue from the equity sale after the cabinet decides to clear the disinvestment.
Paradip Port In Odisha Becomes The Latest Port To Handle Rice Exports After The Kakinada Port
Odisha-based Paradip Port has followed the deep-water Kakinada Port to be regarded as the latest port that skilfully handles rice exports in the country. Last week, the first shipment consisting of non-basmati rice consignment was officially exported from the Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) to Vietnam. A well-known rice miller and exporter called Sarala Foods is ready to export approximately 520 tons or 20 containers of non-basmati rice to the Hai Phong Port located in Vietnam. The inclusion of the Paradip International Cargo Terminal in the rice exports arena of India will go a long way in enhancing non-basmati rice to the South-East Asian nations while providing a new source of income for the poverty-stricken farmers in and around Odisha.
Canada Approves The Construction Of Two Arctic Icebreakers To Boost The Nation’s Footprint In The Shipping Arena
The Canadian Government has given the nod to building a pair of Arctic icebreakers that will eventually strengthen the country’s footprint in the maritime arena.
