The California Air Resources Board Has Pressed A Fine Against Wan Hai Lines

In recent news, The California Air Resources Board has made it to the headlines by pressing a fine against Taiwan-based Wan Hai Lines that has amounted to $680,750 in total. Throwing light on the grave issue, the fine has been charged owing to the violations of the ocean-going vessels at-berth regulation that focuses on cutting down the diesel particulate matter and oxides of nitrogen. Moreover, this reduction process is aimed at the auxiliary engines in ocean-going vessels when they are docked at California ports. According to an audit statement, Wan Hai Lines had been unsuccessful in its attempt to cut down its fleet auxiliary engine power generation by approximately 80% while the vessels were anchored at Long Beach and Los Angeles.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Has Decided To Resume Its Operations At The Gunsan Shipyard

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has confirmed its decision to restart its operations at the Gunsan Shipyard that is conveniently located in the southwestern port city of Gunsan. The maritime organisation has also shared its plans of hiring 750 workers to facilitate the production of 100,000 tons of blocks for large-sized container vessels every year.
